Child Hope Organization (CHO) is a non-governmental, non-religious and a non-profit organization was founded in 2008 which recognized by Ministry of Interior of licensed number 1299SCN on date 15th June 2009. CHO founded in response to a need to provide educational activities to the most vulnerable children through providing formal and non- formal education as a basic Khmer and English literacy, morality, sports, art/drawing, healthcare, computer, vocational skills training and life skills classes. And CHO has been promoting child rights awareness, parenting practice and job training support to those children and families in Battambang and Pailin province of Cambodia.
The Farewell event to Volunteers from Hong Kong
According to provide good communication with all national and international institutions, by the side of
13th June 2011, Child Hope Organization (CHO) received six volunteers who come from university in Hong Kong to teach poor children that were studying in Child Hope Organization center, and they worked there for two months. In the time that they worked in CHO, all the volunteers have pitied the children who are the poor, orphaned, vulnerable children and some children have loaded HIV/AIDS situation. In their achievement, all the volunteers always teach the children patiently and compassionately and they also played with those poor children with kind of friendly. |

Moreover they give some equipment for studying, toys to those children. In these two months all the volunteers have kept the good advices and show their own country education pattern system to their students. Even if they were in a hard situation of teaching to the children who background less-education make them in difficult manners but they still be fearless that make their students proud and intelligence when they study in CHO. At 05th August 2011 is the last day of their working in CHO for the period of 2months. Teaching Skills
CHO works to empower their students by teaching them the skills they will need in the future. This includes such activities as raising chickens, computer typing, English language and planting crops. Moreover, CHO always give up their students with awareness on social moral, child rights, anti-child trafficking, domestic violence, labor maltreat and affected of drug uses.
The students are taught, and then asked to carry out the tasks on their own. This builds the children’s confidence in their abilities to perform these duties.
CHO programs (Pailin Province)
Cambodia’s province of Pailin is primarily a rural area. Agriculture is a major source of income. CHO has selected six of the poorest villages in Pailin to partner with. Through these relationships, CHO helps to support formal and non formal education and to supply some teacher assist once a week to each of these schools, and to help the villages raise money to improve their facilities; more the villagers have been trained such anti child trafficking, domestic violence, child rights and agriculture methods. For this initiative, CHO is seeking the Financial support of outside organizations and other charity.
Volunteer/Internship Opportunities
CHO’s Internship opportunities offer volunteers a chance to teach English, plan and lead workshops, write grants and other fundraising activities. Volunteers may also take a trip with the CHO staff to the Pailin province
to observe the projects in that district. As a volunteer, you will be giving the opportunity to live with a host-family. The teachers of CHO and their families are more than happy to offer their homes to volunteers. This is a great way

Who We Serve
CHO’s students include 284 underprivileged children living in the Battambang province. Some of these children are orphaned, and of those, many live in the surrounding pagodas and slum areas.In the Pailin province, CHO assists with the education of approximately an additional 500 students.
