DESCRIPTION OF THE ORGANIZATION

History of the organization: Child Hope Organization (CHO) is a non-political, non religious, humanitarian local non-governmental organization and legally registered with the Royal Cambodian Government chartered Nº. 1299SCN, founded on 15th June 2009.

Vision: Cambodian children, being vulnerable, and poor, will be provided the rights, well-beings, safety, and their personal development with the hope for the future.

Mission: Child Hope Organization, with the capacity, and experiences for years of staff in community development and education, will contribute to the Royal Government of Cambodia, national organizations, international organizations, and other relevant institutes in order to promote child rights, provide abilities on various skills as well as offer them with services to develop the prosperous future.

Goal: Children and Families, in target areas, will be provided services of education, training, skills, care, and materials so that they can have ability to develop their personality, and hopefully live with well-being in the society

GOVERNANCE

Currently CHO is lead by the Board of Directors. CHOs' work is managed and implemented by the Executive Director and the Management Committee.

  • The Board of Directors work as advisors who identify the organizations policies, support fund-raising, oversee the performance results, monitor budget expenses and the appointment or change of Executive Director.

  • The Representative work as advisors, likely as BoD member who identify the organizations strategies, fund-raising, oversee the performance results, and legally of CHO in their own country.

  • The Management Committee assists the Executive Director in management of daily work, fund-raising and preparing activities reports and financial reports for submitting to the BOD and Donors.

Children at CHO

CHO’s center students include 284 underprivileged children living in the Battambang province. Some of these children are orphaned, live with loaded HIV/AIDS family and of those, many live in the surrounding pagodas and slum areas. In the opportunity at CHO center they are provided with English language classes, Computer skills, social moral and life skills.
